Lowell

The GOMI course at Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School, in Lowell, MA is called “Keeping it Green.” The course is co-led by Melissa Chen and Aaron Donovan, and is open for grades 9-12th. The students in the course generally embark on various field trips to parks or other community organizations. Currently, they are focusing on a water monitoring project as well as learning about pollinator strips in collaboration with Mill City Grows' urban farm.  Students in the course learn how to conduct field observations and gain a deeper understanding of other environmental organizations that provide crucial services in the face of climate change.
